All the Answers You Need

WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER THERAPY?

I have various ways of accepting insurances. Your insurance plan will tell you if you have co-pays and deductibles.

BCBS

CIGNA

TRICARE

AETNA

OPTUM

UHC

VA

HUMANA

        SLIDING SCALE SELF-PAY

I also offer sliding scale fees if you prefer not to use insurance or don't have one that I accept

HOW LONG WILL THE PROCESS TAKE?

Less time than you think in most cases. Most people get better and I discharge them. My goal is that you get better not that you see me for years, although I can and have seen some very wounded individuals for years. I generally know, based on what you tell me at the beginning approximately how long it will take so you can ask if you are concerned.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

Email me or text me and I will give you guidance on how to do that. I subcontract with several agencies so where you are and what insurance you are using (or not using) will govern how you are scheduled.

CAN I SEE YOU IN PERSON OR BY TELEHEALTH

Yes to both. I have an office in Jackson, TN, and I do therapy by telehealth as well.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET SCHEDULED IN?

Three to five days

HOW LONG AND OFTEN ARE SESSIONS?

Generally, I see clients once a week for approximately 50 minutes. Some clients I see twice a week for 4 to 8 weeks if they are very distressed in order to provide more support and quicker results. Once clients are on a discharge track, I see them once every two weeks (if I have availability), for approximately 3 to 4 sessions.

WHAT DAYS AND TIMES DO YOU OFFER

I offer M-W 9 am to 7 pm.

On Thursdays I offer 9 am to 2 pm.

On Fridays I offer 9 am to 1 pm.

I do not work on the weekends.

CAN YOU DO EMDR/ABS AND OTHER SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES BY TELETHERAPY?

Yes. I use tactile stimulation instead of eye movement which is less tiring for the client and me and can be done by teletherapy. This is known as ABS (Alternating Bilateral Stimulation) because it does the same thing, but without involving the eyes.
