IT IS ILLOGICAL TO THINK THAT MENTAL HEALTH WILL EVER BE HEALTHY WITHOUT THE RIGHT BRAIN!
Left Brain

Right Brain!
Changing your thinking alone is insufficient because negative feelings are processed in the right brain, and positive affirmations, though beneficial, are processed in the left brain.
To truly feel positive, you must replace negative feelings with positive or adaptive feelings, both of which are processed in the right brain.
Simply thinking positive affirmations won't suffice; you must feel them to experience genuine positivity.

Trauma and Processing Feelings
**Trauma and Trauma Memory Storage**
- Trauma is a response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope.
- Trauma memories are stored in the brain differently from other memories near the survival system of the mind to improve reaction time to threats and are thus associated with intense emotions.
- Traumatic memories in traumatic storage are never in the past, but always in the present so they can be triggered
- Triggering is the normal process of the mind to respond quickly to cues that a threat exists

**Alternating Bilateral Stimulation (ABS)**
- ABS is a treatment approach that involves alternating stimulation of the left and right sides of the body, typically through eye movements (EMDR) or tapping.
- ABS functions to allow the mind to reprocess traumatic memory out of the special storage area an into biographical memory
- ABS keeps the gatekeeper Hippocampus on-line and available to allow a location shift of memories
- Reprocessing traumatic memories allows them to be integrated into the ordinary memory process and become associated with the past rather than the present, reducing their emotional impact and triggering.

**Role of the Left and Right Brain**
- The left brain is primarily responsible for analytical thinking, logic, and language.
- The right brain is primarily responsible for processing emotions, creativity, and intuition.
**Purpose of Emotions and Impact of Suppression**
- Emotions serve as signals that guide behavior and help individuals respond to their environment.
- Processing emotions involves feeling, acknowledging, understanding, and expressing them in a healthy way.
- Suppressing emotions can lead to physical and mental health problems, as well as difficulty forming healthy relationships.
